A new project, a colouring site!

Years ago ThemePassion was a WordPress review site. I held on to the domain name even though I had long retired the site because I always liked it and hoped I’d find a use for it. Fast forward to having a bit more time and a world of AI and I have created a new colouring site with the domain ThemePassion

For years my two daughters have loved creating cards for special occasions via colouring pages which I’d usually quickly search for online for the perfect one for each of them. It surprisingly often took longer than expected as you would find them on messy convoluted pages promising a colour page if you just downloaded / signed up for their email newsletter, which I often did, but it was often frustrating and then the actual colour page would be hidden behind a wall of text. ThemePassion won’t do this to you, what’s there is there for the taking with minimal hoop jumping.

A few weeks ago I needed to do the process again for their Grandmothers Birthday, and then the thought occurred to me why not just get chat GPT to generate them for me. Anyway, after a few generations we had perfect cards and my Mother loved them. This got me thinking, could I do this with local generation via Stable Diffusion and ComfyUI. This lead me down the rabbit hole of creating an entire image generator and tagger.

I decided to release the output via ThemePassion , and intend to keep adding more as each occasion comes up, but the real fun was the behind the scenes generator. I’m toying with a longer term idea of releasing my generator to the public. Right now the generator can create images or receive external images. It uses Stable Diffusion via ComfyUI and auto tagging is done using a local LLM Gemma 4 model. I will likely need something more powerful for content moderation and review, probably Anthropic’s Haiku model if I ever do decide to release it. The prompt builder will also need to be tested more to make sure output is solid most of the time. I may even add a BYOK options for people to add their own keys for 3rd party image generation.

For now, if you have kids or enjoy colouring, as there are some aimed at adults, then check out ThemePassion and if time permits or interest is shown maybe I’ll add the generator at a later date.
